David Ciekanski AKA Matt Fax has transformed the world of progressive house, rising from underground star to a leading figure in the scene. With a unique sonic identity and prolific work rate, he has firmly cemented himself as a champion of the genre. Now Colorize is delighted to present 'Progressions', the second studio album from Matt Fax!

'Progressions' is the culmination of three successful years for the young musician after releasing his debut album 'Contrast' in 2017, during which he has released critically-acclaimed, successful singles that have resulted in tens of million of streams and spins on SiriusXM, BBC Radio 1 and Radio FG. He has received praise from fellow industry leaders including Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Lane 8 and Chris Lake and he launched the inaugural, ambitious Colorscapes series with Colorize label-mate Dezza in 2019. This is all while touring the world from Europe to Japan to the US, playing standout events like ASOT 900 and Electronic Family in the Netherlands and embarking on a three month tour of the US with Jason Ross.

'Progressions' is a bold, expansive exploration of progressive house music, on which Matt Fax pushes boundaries and proves his polished, mesmerising sound is second-to-none. His second album sees the youthful producer emerge with a confident, assured approach, his experience allowing him to effortlessly craft fresh, breathtaking prog anthems that swell from nuanced to grandiose. With truly stellar production across the project with its finely-calibrated synth textures, banging, refined bass and an inescapable, relentless groove, Matt Fax finds a luscious sweet spot across these seventeen tracks.

Featuring singles including the driving 'Animal' with singer / songwriter Trove, the marauding, ethereal ambiance of 'The Wave' with Ava Silver, and throbbing and vocal-heavy production 'Set Your Sails' with duo RBBTS, Matt Fax employs contributions from a collection of exciting collaborators to great effect, punctuating the album precisely between his dynamic solo efforts. These include two mammoth anthems, 'The Greatest Thing' with Grammy nominated singer / songwriter Richard Bedford and 'Artificial', a stirring collaboration with friend and Trance legend BT. Mixed with the prog house bangers are transcendent ambient moments that refocus the listener, making this a delightfully cohesive and accessible dance album.

From Matt Fax: 'This album marks a brand new era for me. It showcases a darker and a more melancholic sound than what I've been releasing so far, it totally defines me as the person I am today. I wanted to push the boundaries of my sound and explore new territories I couldn't explore previously due of my lack of knowledge. I worked a full year, almost 24/7, on 60+ tracks to be able to select the best of the best to put on the record'.
